Ira lives in Nizhny Novgorod. She has autism. Just a year ago Ira found it difficult to express herself. She often cried and felt frustrated. Thanks to Naked Heart Foundation she started classes with qualified specialists and learnt to communicate with her family. She feels much happier and enjoys the same life as her peers. She loves going to nursery, swinging in her hammock and dancing like nobody’s watching.
Kirill lives in St Petersburg. Kirill’s disability meant he struggled to be around other children, quickly becoming frustrated and angry. If he wanted to play, he would just pull hair or sometimes even beat another kid to attract his attention. Thanks to intensive support programme ran by Naked Heart Foundation he learnt how to play with other children without hurting them. It made a huge difference to his and his family’s lives and he can now spend hours playing toys and hide-and-seek with his friends!
Tanya lives in Nizhny Novgorod. She has autism and couldn’t make herself understood; when she started classes at Naked Heart Family Support Centre she couldn’t even say “Hello”. Just four month later she learnt to communicate using special cards with symbols. Now she can show what she needs and ask questions. And this month she started greeting all her teachers at the Centre!
Galya lives in St Petersburg. Because of her disability Galya found it difficult to tell her parents what she wanted and needed. If she disliked a game or her food, she would just scream and run away. Thanks to the intensive support programme ran by Naked Heart Foundation Galya has learnt how to express her needs and wishes in a way that’s comfortable both for her and for others. She doesn’t need to run away anymore!
Makar lives in Nizhny Novgorod and thanks to our intensive support programme Makar is no longer afraid to come up to new people and to go shopping. He became interested in toys, started to associate pictures with real objects and to work hard in classes.
Anastasia lives in St Petersburg. She has Williams syndrome, which means she has some health and learning difficulties, and can be off-puttingly friendly and talkative with people, which can be scary for other children and very tiring for adults. Anastasia always relied on support of her parents and teachers. She needed their constant attention and struggled to play on her own. Thanks to the intensive support programme run by the Foundation Anastasia learnt how to use schedules. She became more independent and she is even helping other children to follow their schedules!
Artem lives in St Petersburg. He has Down’s syndrome. Artem had a very limited vocabulary, which made it enormously difficult for him to talk to other children and to his parents. Thanks to intensive support programme ran by Naked Heart Foundation Artem learnt to use a communication board. It’s a special board with icons, so now if Artem can’t say a certain word, he can simply show an icon! It’s way more fun for him to talk to his friends and parents now.
Tamerlan lives in Nizhny Novgorod. He has autism. It was hard for Tamerlan to play with other children, he preferred to be on his own. Thanks to classes at the Naked Heart Family Support Centre he learnt how to interact with other children. This helped him make friends at his nursery and feel part of the group. Tamerlan loves to read and to play scrambled word games!
Alexey lives in St Petersburg. He has an intellectual disability. Alexey struggled to concentrate. He felt restless and kept running away in a middle of a game or school activity. Thanks to intensive support programme ran by Naked Heart Foundation Alexey can finally enjoy studying and playing with his friends! He learnt to wait and take turns, and now has so much fun with other students.
Vika lives in Nizhny Novgorod. Because of her disability it was hard for her to concentrate in a class. She often felt lost and nervous. Thanks to Naked Heart Foundation experts she learnt to use schedules and is now enjoying her classes at our Family Support Centre. Vika loves playing with her dolls and swinging in her hammock!
Katya lives in St Petersburg. She has an intellectual disability. Katya struggled to pronounce words clearly, so her parents couldn’t understand her. It frustrated Katya and made her cry. Thanks to intensive support programme ran by Naked Heart Foundation Katya has learnt to use cards with symbols in addition to her speech. This made her life so much easier! She really enjoys talking to her parents now and feels happier.
Zhenya lives in St Petersburg. He has an intellectual disability and just several months ago he found it hard to socialise with his peers, teachers and family. Thanks to intensive support programme ran by Naked Heart Foundation Zhenya became more independent, he started playing with other kids and made some amazing friends!
